Check the difference between conventional CPR and Hands-only CPR:

Conventional CPR – CPR with chest compressions and rescue breaths.

Hands-Only CPR – CPR with chest compressions only.

Significance of Hands-only CPR. Aren’t Rescue Breaths Important?
There are many instances where a person needs CPR and bystanders are unwilling to put their mouth on the other person’s mouth. Maybe the victim looks sick or is foaming at the mouth. Maybe you just don’t want to lock lips with a stranger. During such cases, a person becomes hesitant in going ahead with helping out a victim. Regardless of the reason, it is better to do something than nothing. That is where lies the importance of Hands-Only CPR. Experts have determined that chest compressions alone can increase the likelihood of survival. It’s also easier to learn and it’s easier for an untrained bystander to perform.

However, conventional CPR is still recommended and is also considered to be a better solution. But, if you suddenly see a victim collapse in a public place, AT LEAST perform Hands-Only CPR. Doing so will increase the likelihood of the victim’s survival.
If you are trained in conventional CPR and are willing to do rescue breaths, it is recommended that you go ahead with conventional CPR.

It is better that you train yourself under expert guidance for the best results. It is only proper application of the techniques that can revive a victim.
