AED Training In The BLS Classes

An AED or Automated External Defibrillator device is a piece of life-saving technology which goes hand in hand with CPR. These are portable shock devices which are these days available in easy-to-find locations (in the face of the rising number of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest cases) in public places. AED is mainly used to jump-start the heart in the event of ventricular fibrillation (V-fib) or ventricular tachycardia (V-Tach) which both are unsynchronized heartbeats and are life threatening, which makes an AED useful because it is able to automatically diagnose the type of cardiac arrhythmia and treat it through defibrillation. This machine momentarily stops the heart in order to allow it to reset and reestablish an effective rhythm. The device is easy to use but training will make an individual confidently use the device on a victim in a real life scenario. The AED machine comes with easy-to-use audio and visual commands, making it straightforward for every bystander to use. Use of an AED device increases the chances of survival up to 75 percent if used immediately. Just keep one thing in mind, if the heart is not beating then an AED is useless and CPR must be continued, as it is a life-saving option even with a non-pulsing heart.

One is not required to go for a separate class in order to attain training in how to use this device as training is imparted in the CPR classes itself.

Cardiac arrest is a serious business and shouldn’t be taken likely. Each year about 300,000 people suffer out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in USA which can be caused by a heart attack or a rhythmic disturbance from a shock or an accident and less than eight percent survive.
So enroll for a BLS certification Memphis program or any other CPR program at CPR Memphis and gain the benefits. For more information call on 901-438-4200.
