It is
absolutely true that loneliness and isolation can take a toll on your heart-
perhaps even more than having high blood pressure or being obese, which is as
per a new research. Any problem in the functioning of the heart can cause the
occurrence of a cardiac arrest or heart attack. The best way to deal with
cardiac emergencies is by going for a BLS certification Memphis program (it is a basic CPR program designed for
medical students) or any other CPR program. Always select an accredited
training site for acquiring training such as the AHA accredited CPR Memphis in
Tennessee. Classes are conducted by certified instructors through a series of
audio and video lectures and hands-on practice. At the end of the training
classes, a student will be eligible for an AHA certification which comes with
validity of 2 years.

So, let us
get back to our discussion on loneliness and its effect on heart.

·
Researchers
conducted 23 separate studies that asked people to rate their level of social
engagement and then combined the findings. The studies tracked the participants
for periods ranging from three to 21 years and noted down whether they were
diagnosed with or died from heart disease or had a first stroke.
·
The
results of the studies were published in the journal “Heart”, it was found that
people who were lonely or socially isolated were 29% more likely than those who
were not to have a heart attack or to need a procedure to clear blocked heart
arteries. They were also 32% more likely than socially engaged people to
experience a stroke.
·
It
is still unclear whether loneliness contributes to heart problems or is instead
a symptom of poor health. But it is advisable for people who feel lonely or
isolated to seek counseling and should find ways to connect with friends,
family or others in their community.
Do not turn
into a recluse, talk to people, socialize, enjoy your life to the fullest which
is integral to good health. Go for health check-ups in order to assess your
risks for a heart disease. Stay physically fit, eat healthy, exercise
regularly- all these will keep your heart healthy.
